Coaches use every social media to recruit so why not create a social media geared specifically towards recruiting. We aim to help athletes get the exposure they need while helping coaches perform their job to the best of their ability. We aim for this to be used as a LinkedIn for athletics. We want to help athletes ensure they do not slip through the cracks in the recruiting process while helping coaches to not miss out on talent or their "next gem." There are a lot of tedious aspects of the recruiting process like finding phone numbers for guardians/coaches/guidance counselors etc. We aim to streamline the tedious hours into minutes for coaches to be more efficient. Athletes can promote themselves in the recruiting process while providing all the vital information to make sure they allow themselves the best shot at an opportunity. This can also be used as a platform for athletes to post content they may not post on other social media platforms as this is an athletic social media. This is a tool that brings a great return to both athletes and coaches by helping on both ends of the process while being fun to use.

The name NxtGem stems from a commonly used phrase in recruiting "Finding a diamond in the rough" or a "gem.”

For Students: Sometimes it is true that if you are talented coaches will find you, but most of the time it is not that simple. A lot of the time students have to proactively contact coaches. At such a young age a lot of high school athletes don’t know how to market themselves. A lot of times it falls on the high school coaches to do the outreach for them. This can serve as a one stop shop for athletes and coaches to connect and bridge the gap.

For Coaches: College coaches get thousands of emails and calls a day from parents, students, high school coaches and recruiting agencies. This allows them to filter the messaging they receive. Gain exposure to a player you may not have found. The ability to scroll through and have three plays or a 1-2 minute clip available for you to gauge if you want to take a further dive into the athletes film without a 20-minute link to start. Access to the “more info” tab for each athlete allows you to condense hours/days of recruiting into a click of a button. The ability to store a player and everything you need for them in your “my prospects” tab.

Objectives

For Students:

For Coaches:
